At UBcups, we value more than safety and quality, but to ensure that only the best products are developed for your baby/toddler. That is why we know the importance of desiding what type of teat you should by for your baby. Bellow gives the pros and cons of both latex or silicone.

Latex – the resistant natural substance
Latex teats are taken from rubber milk of the rubber tree, which has a honey-yellow colour. Latex teats are warm and very soft, while also being incredibly flexible and tear resistant. This therefore is also recommended for babies who have their first teeth. Due to the natural origins of lax, it has a slight taste and when hit directly by sunlight, it becomes leaky quite quickly. Even though latex teats become sticky, it is a natural sign that is recommended to be changes with a new one every 1-2 months.

Silicone – the high-quality synthetic material
Silicone teats are made from a synthetic material. This clear material is easy to be cleaned and is highly resistant. Even when the material is directly hit by sunlight, it doesn’t not age. Silicone teats have a neutral taste and smell, but also having a slightly less bite and tear-resistants compared to latex. Should a silicone teat have even minor bite marks or any other sign of damages, it should be immediately replaced. This is due to hygiene and safety, with require teats to be replaced every 1-2 months.
